Compatibility with any major blog API

This wish is open

Description

I'd like an API to be in place to allow external programs to post blog entries. Most major blogs have such an API in place, and it can be extremely helpful. For instance, many mobile smartphones might be able to run software that could make use of the API, but most have really crappy browsers. Also functionality like future post dates could be implemented in the client software instead of Wikidot having to add it themselves.

Examples of Blog APIs:
MetaWeblog API
WordPress API
Blogger API

Example of programs using Blog APIs:
Windows Live Writer for Windows
Tblogger for Windows Mobile

Wikidot TOS:
Obviously the TOS prohibit automated usage that is not "officially available". Were wikidot to incorporate a blog API, it would be officially available and it would not violate the TOS.

You know from the coming API with Save function?

Hi David!
I am not sure if you know from the current existing Python API with a lot of methods …

The coming "save" method will open such features.

Have a look on Gabrys blog…

Service is my success. My webtips:www.blender.org, www.zusi.de (Demo-Video)

Ooooo, XML-RPC! Cool. I've been away a while and haven't really been keeping up with Gabrys' blog. Thanks =)

I'm not yet sure what their intentions are as far as compatibility with existing blogging applications that support a specific blogging API—this looks like something separate that will have to be dev'd separate, but could probably be made compatible for limited use, so I'd like to leave the wish up for now at least.
