Using Wikidot's Search

This HowTo runs through the possible filters when searching in Wikidot's site search. There may be many more to be discovered… but without official documentation, I'm unsure of all the possibilities!



Search Filter Explanation
Basic Search
Here are some basic searching filters:
search Displays results with the exact match "search"
"search phrase" Displays results with the exact match "search phrase"
search phrase Prioritises results with the both words "search" and "phrase" followed by pages with either search words
Objective Filters
You can also filter by title, category, "since", "till", author and tags
title:Wikidot Prioritises results with the word Wikidot in the title
title:"Wikidot Rocks!" Prioritises results with the string Wikidot Rocks! in the title
category:howto Displays results to only display pages from the howto category
category:howto,app Displays results to only display pages from the howto and app categories
since:yyyy-mm-dd todo.
till:yyyy-mm-dd todo.
user:author-name todo.
tags:onetag Displays results with the tag onetag
tags:onetag,twotag Prioritises results with both tags followed by the pages with either tags
Precision Filters
Use additional search terms to further refine your results
+search +phrase Displays results with both "search" and "phrase"
+title:Wikidot +title:Rox Displays results with both "Wikidot" and "Rox"
+category:howto +category:app identical to category:howto,app
+tags:onetag +tags:twotag Displays results with both tags
NOT tags:onetag Displays results without the onetag tag.
