I can't seem to figure out how to add captions for images I upload onto my wiki.
Here are 3 links to some snippets that might help.

How do I upload an image from my computer? This should be really obvious but I don't see how to do it.
See our Handbook: http://handbook.wikidot.com/en:upload-an-image

At the bottom of the page click on Files then click on Upload a File from Your Computer. You will then need to put the image syntax on your page to display the image. For that see the documentation at http://www.wikidot.com/doc-wiki-syntax:images

Is there a way to prevent copy and download of some images from a wikidot site? (usually the photos on my website - himetop.wikidot.com - are licensed as Creative Commons, but in some cases I have to respect some third part copyright, not allowing the copy and easy download of images). Thank you!
In reality no, there is no technical way which coukd prevent such downloading.
What you can do is only make clear in the footers of the images that they are right protected - whith a link to the original image…
( or not show these images ..)

Thank you very much!
I am having some trouble with this too. It seems to fail according to which wiki page the image is on, not the image itself.
They're working on it:

It should work now ith the new API from flickr… the wikidot has reacted on this bug message and changed their system.
PLease - check if this is ok now - and check also if you need a "save" ( without any changes) of the pages..

Yes, it's working now and as you said, you need to open the editor and save the page for the image to show again.

Today, the images on the right (MUTO) were down. I went to flickr and copied and pasted one of the images, and now all images are down on that page save for the one from photobucket. This page has been up for a week with these images without problem.
I found using preview that if I tried to change any image (by inserting a different id) on another page, it will also take out all of the other images on that page. I tried a different PC with different operating system and browser with same result.
The flickr account is fine, and all images are working.
An example of the code I am using to display images without the "" and "" brackets =image *flickr:14458079555 height="240px"
Thank you!

That's the problem! The flickr account has not been shifted to private or deleted, and no settings have been changed. Nor had the code on the page been changed before the pictures on the start page initially disappeared.
1. Initially some photos disappeared on a wiki page (demon princess elzebub), with that message that the picture does not exist or is now private.
2. Two pictures disappeared on start page yesterday. On re-posting the same address from active picture link in flickr for one of those pictures, all of the movie pictures below changed to that same message that the photo either does not exist or is private.
3. The flickr account is not private and pictures are available for viewing on my computer (mac with safari) and another laptop (windows with chrome).
I found my account on friend's laptop by searching under "people" user name "kaijumatic." All of the photos immediately popped up.
EDIT: Here is a photo from same flickr account, never posted on wikidot before, testing link.
(EDIT2: The picture is now found and rendered! )
So I can no longer post flickr photos on wikidot, but my flickr account is public and available for viewing at flickr on other computers with no account signed in.
Thanks to the person/s that helped me out on adding the image to Rtravel. I was able to navigate it and add some really nice shots. Just wondering how to access other ppls wiki to compare.

Hmm. What are you looking for examples on - just images attached to pages of other wikis?

I'm trying to add an image to Rtravel's wiki page and I'm having problems with a broken link. How do I add this image?

I recommend you study the Wikidot syntax which is at http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax and will show you how to add images and the correct format for internal and external links.
For example on the Social Impact page of your rtravel site you have got [ http://Rtravel.wikidot.com] where you've mixed up an internal link and an external link. As this is a link to the start page all you needed was [start] or [ home] to use your own text (home).
And on the About page you have put:
The first one is again a link to the homepage but you've use the http:// external syntax. The second one again mixes up the syntax. As it is an internal link to the Social Impact page you just needed to put [ Social Impact].
An external link uses either no brace (bracket) or just one if you want to use custom text for the link. An internal lines 3 braces (brackets) and no http:, just the name of the page and if you want custom text then a pipe and the text.
So a bit of studying of the syntax documentation will help you a lot here. But come back with questions, that's what we're here for.
