Introduction

This is a list of requested features. Each one has a small discussion along with it.

Accessibility

Cell Phone Accessibility

There is no current plan to make wikidot wikis available on hand held devices with text-only browsers.

This will be considered in the future as the internet continues to evolve.

Files

Central File Manager

A central file manager to keep track of all files uploaded to all pages of a wiki. This has been in planning since the beginning. Currently you can only get data on the total data size of all files on your wiki.

Images

Auto Image Caption

An auto image caption. Currently you have to create an image caption using CSS.

HTML

Include HTML in Wiki Pages.

As JavaScript can be included in HTML pages, there is the same security concern with JavaScript above.

Specifically Requested Wiki Syntax HTML Enhancements

• Image Maps
• Tables (Wikidot now has CSS-capable tables much like in HTML our wiki syntax)

Linking

InterWiki Linking

This should have already been added as a feature here at wikidot.

Auto Page Titles

Include the page title of a link to a page automatically. Needs much brainstorming to get right.

Mailing List

A mailing list for wikidot wikis is currently in pre-planning.

Scripting

Include JavaScript in Wiki Pages.

There is a security concern on this issue

Include PHP Code in Wiki Pages

Definitely not a good idea for security reasons.

Permissions

Addition of "Page VIEWing" permissions.

This would make a marked improvement of wikidot, and has been requested on numerous times.
A rather messy workround is to have two sites, one of them private.
