My wiki (metroplexity.wikidot.com) is having some problems with intermittant, but frequent, reports of "Operation Timed Out" when search is attempted.

We've tried a couple of different things:

• Most of the users access the wiki through wiki.metroplexity.com, but the error occurs identically on both sites.
• Most of our users use Firefox, but the error still pops up in Safari, Chrome, or other browsers
• I also received the same error on community.wikidot.com when I trying to find the appropriate place to post this, so I don't think it's necessarily limited to our wiki.

Anyway, I hope we're able to figure out what's going on here because the wiki is an important tool for my players.

I have the same problem. I don't understand your answer Helmut or how those links were helpful. When I search on the Handbook site, I get the same "Operation timed out" error!

I've been having these issues for a few months now. Wikidot is virtually useless for us without a working Search. What is being done about these errors?

Has anyone been able to get ahold of Wikidot? This has been broken for some time and not addressed.

Would be interesting for me : could I test some searches on your wikis?

2. the "search words"

Could be I will have the same ptoblems, but could also be not.

Oddly enough, I think I found a workaround just now, because I remembered that one website I follow has never reported this problem.

Use the following code on search:site page:

[[include :csi:include:adv-search]]

I haven't had problems with it yet, but let me know if it still has issues.

like Shane ( leiger) I have sent a message to one of the developers.

As of recently (not sure how recently, because it's been a while since I last used it), search never works for me on the Wikidot domain (which means I can't search the documentation) or this Community subdomain (which means I can't search the forums). I think it worked once, when I accidentally refreshed the page after searching (but that technique hasn't worked since then). It seems to be working on my own wiki at the moment; I can't recall if it's ever not worked there.

I have also had this issue for the past few months, and it's still occurring (and getting more frequent). I hope there's a solution soon!
