I've done some more exhaustive blogging in the past, but this is a different kind of project. I'm starting with unlocked smartphones and will expand to other related electronics. I'll still have features that are long, offering helpful tips and tricks, and there will be news items, though fairly minimal, but the biggest change in how I'm doing things are with microreviews.
The idea is to quickly rank the available unlocked smartphones that have the best bang for the buck with a little differentiation on which type of user would want each one, to do the research and summarize the high points with as little geek speak as possible. My intended audience tends to gloss over when things get too technical.
I'm getting the opportunity to really make the most of includes in a way I never have before, I'm enjoying data forms and using ListPages and live templates with the benefit of having winged it years ago on wiihd and made lots of mistakes I can learn from. And although my CSS knowledge is dreadfully minimal, I'm slowly tweaking it one element at a time to get where I want to go (halfway between midnight coal and the shiny variant booze). I'm still a ways off from my vision both for structure and content, but it's starting to shape up bit by bit.
