1. The traffic reporting system is that which is built into Wikidot, i.e. at http://saveourservice.wikidot.com/default--flow/manage__WebStats/type/index. The stats page has a link to a sourceforce page for Awstats.
The recording of visits stopped yesterday, Sunday. There are no visits/visitors recorded today Monday 9th June at all. It records in live time as far as I know.
2. I got about 40 unique visitors per day, and about 56 visits per day (as you say some visitors are coming back more than once per day) during the period when stats were recorded (1 to 7 June 2014). I am certain numbers of visitors have shot up since then.
3. See reply 2.
4. Yes, we have had 15 FB Likes in the last 14 hours, but none have been recorded as visitors or visits to the site.
5. We have had eleven petition signatures since midnight last night, i.e. in the last 14 hours.
I don't think cookies have much impact on collection of traffic data. Few people block cookies in their browser.
The collection of stats using the Wikidot system just stopped abruptly. I didn't do anything to the site that is likely to have any effect on statistics collection. I just did some simple text updates, did not touch modules or anything like that. This is why it is so weird. It could be that the web logs on the Wikidot server I am on is not being processed and then posted to my stats page. I notice on the stats page it says: Last Update: 08 Jun 2014 - 05:39 Might the stats be updated retrospectively? But it never did this before. They were updated frequently.
I hope you can point me in the right direction to solve what is happening. Thanks.
