At login, I clicked on Facebook login to see how that worked. Now I can't access editing or admin capability on my site at all, even though I re-logged in using my old name. It shows me as Master Admin in my list of sites, but I get an error if I click the Admin button. The site is clusterheadacheinfo.wikidot.com.
Please, need URGENT help with this!
1. I am not sure … are you using different user-names & Logins?
if you make login on www.the wikidot.com main screen and THAN shift to your https://www.wikidot.com/account/sites (Sites) it would be interesting if you would be master admin of the wiki.
2. I cannot detect the _admin page on your site ( it is also private too ) ..
if the page really exists - the link in the "admin" button in the nav:top is different…

I can see that I am the Master Admin on the site list, but get an error message if I try to administer. Whenever I go to the site, it seems as though I am not logged in. Maybe something to do with the list of members of the site itself being corrupt?
Can you go to your site .. without the redirection of the foreign domain?

I can admin my other sites.
The admin button at the top goes to one of my pages that has various tasks, including a link to the standard site admin.
I have had recent problems with my sites that have custom domains behaving the same way. I found the last 2 updates to Firefox (v28 and v29) give me similar (if not identical) issues that you are describing. It was very strange. I could log in and do anything I had permission to do as long as it wasn't on a site with a custom domain. As soon as I visited my sites with a custom domain, it was acting like I was not logged in.
I ended up doing a reset in Firefox and that solved my problem. Thankfully, it's not as drastic as it sounds and all of my "important" settings, favorites, etc. were preserved or synced back up seamlessly.
If you're using Firefox, go to Help > Troubleshooting Information and click the Reset Firefox button. It may solve your problem.
In fact, while composing this message and checking the version of Firefox I was on, Firefox updated from v28 to v29 and triggered the same issue again, so I decided to take some before and after screen shots to show that resetting Firefox does indeed work.
Thanks very much. I use chrome but can try IE or Firefox to see if it persists. It is where I have a custom domain.
I can get into the site under IE, but not Chrome. WTH? I tried resetting everything under Chrome, even wiped cookies and content. No change.
Very strange. I have had no problems with Chrome or IE. I have had the issue with Firefox on at least 3 different PCs that I use regularly to access Wikidot. Win7 Home Premium 64 bit, Win7 Pro 32 bit and a machine that we just retired that was running XP Pro. I was sure this issue was a "Firefox thing", but it sounds like something else may be going on.
Did you try a full reset in Chrome (Menu > Settings > Show advanced settings… > Reset browser settings)?

Yes, I did, and restarted the browser a few times as well when deleting cookies, etc. Still no joy. I think this is a bigger issue…something is not passing the ID token correctly.

Helmut, I can go to the site, but it does not show me as logged in and even if I try re-logging in, it just doesn't seem to matter.
I suggest you log this as a bug on the official bugs and wishes site for the devs to look into as it is an issue that has affected more than one user. They will see it quicker there than on the community site.

I just reported this on the bug report on the feedback site. I have found a scenario where I can recreate this issue in both Firefox and Chrome and can fix it by adding an exception for 3rd party cookies.
I just had this happen to me while using Firefox on my work PC. Before resetting the browser, I decided to do some extra digging this time.
I believe I have figured out a solution (although I'm still not sure of the root cause). It seems to be related to
3rd party cookies being blocked. In Firefox, I added an exception for "wikidot.com" and after doing that I refreshed my private site's page and my content appeared.
To test this in Chrome, I went in and blocked 3rd party cookies and I was able to repeat the issue with my private site with a custom domain. After adding an exception in Chrome, I refreshed and my content appeared.
My best guess is that version updates to Chrome and Firefox may be triggering this and our login credentials are being seen as being from a 3rd party due to using a custom domain. I'm not sure if Wikidot can do anything to resolve this since it seems like a stricter security policy is being used with our browsers. I'm just happy I have some steps I can document for my users to fix this.

Now I think, this is more a general problem also in the future - to all users of browsers to insert "well known exceptions for the security" - they have to know where to do this. Most users have no idea of the exitence of this security-level and where to define such known execptions.
I think, it is time to create a new "howto" with your findings anyway for our users here on a central place.

Added My "Custom Domain setting" lets me not sign-in in my wiki on the Emergency-Help.
The title is a little wrong - it is not the custom domain setting alone, but the effect is only given with wikis with custom domains ( now..)
