I have had a private wikidot site for a few years now and had to update the instructions for joining about a year ago. Some users get in very easily, others struggle. The struggle for some is that they're expecting to go to a page that has a button for joining, but all they see is a page with the generic "private content" message. I tried testing the page by 1) previewing while in edit mode and 2) signing out of my account (following the instructions I've seen in the community). It looks fine in preview, but when I sign out, I get the "private content" page — not the one I want my potential members to see. I cannot figure out how to create a page that unauthorized users can view and from which they can apply to join or provide a password to do so. It's frustrating because it seems like this should be simple and it did work at one time in the past. I'm hoping someone can help.
Here's what I have for the "join" part of my ntsf.wikidot.com/system:join page:
Want to join?
If so, click the button below and provide the password.
[[module Join button="Join this site"]]
Don't know the password? You can apply to join. Click on the button below to do so.

What am I doing wrong?
