Users have been reporting that the join function on Wikidot appears to be broken at present. The page sits on "processing" for an interminable length of time.
Do you know what browsers are being reported?
Unfortunately the Wikidot team has been nearly nonexistent for years. I doubt this will ever get fixed ) :

Sorry, been trying to get more data from the users in question. I've been getting this mostly third hand from other staff members or people from other SCP-affiliated sites who've been getting reports from their members, so it's a bit of a game of telephone. I'll let you know as soon as I have more information.
It seems to be mostly sorted now. To clarify, it wasn't joining sites, it was joining Wikidot, that is, creating a new Wikidot account. Apologies for not making the clearer. It seemed to be fairly widespread, at least across the SCP-affiliated sites. People would attempt to make a new account and it would hang on the "Processing" part and never actually complete that step, preventing them from joining the site.
Would you mind if I PM you next time I hear about it, should it come up again? Hopefully allow you to see it in action?
I´m also experiencing problems with the MailForm module. When someone tries to send me an email trough the form, it´s displayed a warning with this message:
"The form data could not be sent to the specified email address."
The module was working fine for years, but seems that this issue started in the beginning of this month.

Would be interesting, if this is true for all regions or only for special geoblocked countries?
I see a lot of new wikis and accounts created in the last days.

I don't think so. I employ vpn from different countries and the problem persists.
OK, thanks for this test!

I got yesterday a contact form mail from the calendars.wikidot .com (Wikidot.com <moc.todikiw|rednes#moc.todikiw|rednes> )!
That mail IS working - but my mail address is a standard cable-provider ( ISP) .com
Could be that such "normal" mails to a normal address are working?

Wikidot is very restrictive to tune your wiki to your needs. You cannot change de source code of wikidot. And now we face the problem of joining for weeks. No solution. It seems is better to change to another more serious platform.
I do not know any public wiki platform which is allowing changing their source code. - this is against every< security.
What wikidot has done - given the source code of their app ( former release) away for free - and some members have really used it and build their own "server" for such wikis.
Also the layout of a wiki is not a necessary problem for cooperation of the people on a common wiki.
But the problem of not getting a mail is of course a nogo.

There is so much work invested in my sites hosted by Wikidot. But, this email problem results in a serious impact on our sites. It's impossible to add new members and the reception of communication by forms is impossible for over a month. Add this to the deficient "watching site" tool, to a very obsolete management of attached files, the lack of answer to the priority customers, etc. Unfortunately, I really need to start looking for a solution elsewhere…

I have the same concerns, Carlos. It's such a waste of such a nice platform. If staff are reading this, please let us know if it makes sense to renew our membership, or if we should start looking for another solution.
Are those problems with mail forms and joining are permanent issues? We have 2 outages caused by email service. But none during last 2 weeks. We are forced to change email sender provider from AWS where whole our infrastructure works to SendGrid. Actuallu SendGrid reports to us about 90% delivery rate. Most of those undelivered are yahoo.com, aol.com and Chinese spam. Also we are not sending all notifications form FREE sites as those lowers our ratings as sender (cause of spammers).

This is broken, again.
I am trying to get users to join my site and cannot send them invitations.
All I get when I try to send the invite is:
Error!
An error occurred while processing the request.
Which is not very helpful.
When is this going to be fixed please?
Are you sending ONE invitation alone or in mass ?
Mass sending is switched off I think
Otherwise I have no idea and can only send the developer a PM

Am I to understand from TeRq's response on 11 Oct 2018 (above) that there will no longer be any notifications to watchers for any free wikidot site?
Our site in particular is useless for scheduling and game purposes without notifications, we'd have to switch to a google group.
We'd need to know that paying for the site means notifications WOULD go out before we upgrade.
I have a pro account and get no notification on the private messages or site/pagec hanges on Community sites… this is not automatically linked to the pro acount
and
I have a free account on handbook.wikidot.com (admin) where I get the notification till today, when an application occurs for membership ( not sure if this will happen for page changes..)

I am grateful for your response, and sad that Wikidot is no longer the great resource for our group it used to be. Was really hoping to restart our activities on the same site, but the core of that was notifications.
Despite my having an account, whenever I try to reply to or post a thread it tells me "Permission error
Sorry, you can not start new discussion thread. Only members of this site, site administrators and perhaps selected moderators are allowed to do it."
