Here's an easy fix (?) that would improve the overall wikidot image.
On pages with a MembershipApply module, existing members get this message:
You can not apply.
It seems you already are a member of this site.
OK, it's clumsy English (but I've gotta say, I'm consistently impressed by this multilingual community's competent and articulate grasp of this particular language).
But mostly it doesn't convey the welcoming tone I'd expect from a community-driven project. And if the module is located prominently, this message is always in my face. How about this instead?
Looks like you're already a member of this site, [[user]].
Thanks for joining.
Another less problematic example is in admin:manage — "Members" —> "Applications"
Sorry, no applications. Not a single soul wants to join this Site… ;-)
Since only wiki admins see it, this one's not such a big deal. Sure, it was cute the first time — but by now it's annoying (not to mention depressing).
Now if I could get these notifications via rss without password protection I wouldn't have to see it ever. But that's another issue.
