My review got truncated. Not being able to exit via the back button always makes me nervous that an app will keep running in the background and suck resources and battery life. It looks like W4A doesn't do that.

I would not mind an "are you sure?" prompt before exiting.

Again, nice job on this app. I"m sure I'll use it often (using the update now on my tablet).

Only a notice: a date would be good on the changelog itself - than a user would now if his used app is outdated?

Good idea, and done :) the idea is that Google Play will automatically notify when there's a new version available so the user did not have to check for them manually :P

and the ToS I cannot read - black on dark grew is hard to read ( on my FF) …. such pages are not really used to be read.

Whoops. I did change it to white in a previous version… but I had since updated it but forgot to re-set the white stylesheet :) all good now :)

I didn't see it as being an important enough to get a place along the top — so, it's along the bottom of the site next to the Terms of Service.

I think your intentions are good and it's great that you once picked up a client from this, but Wikidot's policy is not to engage with webspammers. Just delete them. In the last 48 hours over 500 sites have been created by new/lowkarma users for us to review, and maybe 20 sites will be genuine. And in the last half hour, in the time it has taken for my burger to be served in my local pub, I have deleted over 200 obvious webspam sites with only 5 marked for looking into further. Depressing really. Edit: but it also shows how Wikidot is perceived and that it does well in search engines.

Yes, I wasn't barking at anyone, certainly not at you Wayne. I spend a lot of time dealing with webspam here at Wikidot and it just keeps rolling in like some un-stoppable rolling-in-thing.

Hi there. Yes. My phone is using 4.4 KitKat. I'm still rather new to Android (got my phone this week), so forgive me if the rest of what you said makes no sense to me. ;) I'll just smile and nod and say, "Aha!"

Okay, awesome! I've fixed the issue which with Android 4.4 KitKat logins.

In short, the new version of Android uses new code based on Google Chrome to process these requests. However, they've increased security which meant some of the code no longer worked. I've reimplemented the Wikidot Session manager in Java now.

I'm currently pushing the new version now, once it's approved by Google (could take several hours) — you should be able to update the app to v1.3.6.

edit: If you're dying to have your hands on the new app, you can install the APK straight off my server Wikidot v1.3.6. You will need to allow non-market apps to be installed in Settings > Security > Unknown Sources (check).

Changelog v1.3.6:

• Implemented native session handler for KitKat 4.4
• Fixed issue with threads and posts in activities not loading
• Better error handling for login failures

One little question, though… I managed to get logged in (great!!), but when I see the 'home' button, I see "99+" in a purple square. I'm assuming this means I have 99+ messages to go through. It goes through the motions of apparently loading these, but then comes up with a blank reading space that says "Tap to load more…". I see no messages at all.

Is this normal, as I have nothing unread on my site? New ones will show up later?

Or is this a new bug I've discovered?

If the 99+ was next to the home icon, then the 99+ messages unread items are actually the activities displayed on the home page. If there are unread PMs, then a number will appear next to the mail icon. From the sounds of things, you have 99+ unread activities and 0 unread messages? You can double check that by looking at the account dashboard on your computer.

The unread messages should really show "No messages" if there are none… so, it might be a bug.

Apologies, they were 'unread' messages. But still nothing showed up where I'd expect the messages to be listed. I've marked all of them as 'read' on the wikidot site via logging in on my computer and I see the "99+" has gone away from the Home icon in Wikidot Mobile. So there were definitely unread messages but they just weren't loading on the screen. I'm sure that I will get some new activity on the site in the next day or two to see if this sorts itself out (as I'm assuming we should be able to see said unread messages on that 'home' screen, yes?).

Right. I think I've got it. What I'm seeing in the 'new activities' area is quite literally nothing. Where the messages above from yourself and myself show up on your screenshot, on my phone, I see a blank white screen beneath the red 'button bar' at the top of the screen.

I see private messages just fine.

I can see my two wiki sites listed on the next screen.

And I can see the 'Send PM' button on the fourth screen. But the activities (or first screen) remains blank, but I know I have messages in that area. I didn't when I had 'new' messages to read. I don't now that I've gone in on a computer and marked them as read.

I hope all of that makes sense. :) Here's a screenshot. I've blurred the name as it's signed in with another account right now based on my full name. Keep in mind, the new activity (99+) that I had when I first installed the updated app showed the same blank page. The only difference was that the bubble with "99+" (like in your screenshot) was visible.

Tapping the "Tap to load more…" button does nothing.

Awesome. Sorry it took so long for me to provide a screenshot. Coming from an iPhone, I couldn't figure it out on Android… finally downloaded an app for it. ;)

I too have been unable to use the app for quite some time (since getting a new phone - I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with version 4.3 now). After logging in, it just keeps displaying the spinning graphic and never finishes loading.

Same for me but with the slightly older 4.0.4.

Is the issue with the login process, or once the login is completed? At the moment, I'm diagnosing the problem with no activities being loaded which is a problem I'm seeing with certain accounts.

It is after the login that the loading symbol just never completes.

Yes, it's after login that it sits and spins. I do get an error if I use the wrong credentials so it seems like the login step is working.
