Wikidot Community

That's a random page on another wiki, not your site. Unfortunately, Wikidot has attracted hundreds of thousands of spammers in the last few years. Wikidot has some automated systems in place to remove a good portion of them and there's still a small band of community admins that fight the never-ending battle.

There are so many spam sites created every day that there's no way we could keep up trying to remove them manually, so I don't even try anymore. If I see a specific request to check a user/site, I will and if they are breaking the TOS, I'll try to zap them with the tools available to me. There are currently over 600,000 "suspicious" sites that WIkidot has identified that are awaiting manual review.

Wikidot has become a spammer's haven and is turning into a cesspool of spam.

The developers of Wikidot have all but abandoned things here and it's very frustrating, especially for long-term users like me who still try to provide some support in the community forums.

That is a reason why I stopped all my project here. It seems to me wikidot will be closed as wikispace.

Your guess on the future of Wikidot is a good as mine. They will keep some spam at bay with the automated tools they have in place, but there are not enough adult beverages in the world to keep me interested in trying to keep up with manual deletion. Like I said, I kill the spammers that I can when I get an email notification of the sites I watch (which is most of the community sites), but unless users report issues on their sites here, I won't see them and can't really help.

I think Wikidot is making a decent income in ad revenue and seems like they are doing the bare minimum to keep it running to keep that flow of cash coming in.

It's too bad really. Think of the opportunity WIkidot has to gain by picking up all of the Wikispaces users. It would increase their ad revenue even more and if they invested in development again, the potential to grow paid accounts would be significant.

Clearly, you're privy to some inside information. It's ridiculous how Wikidot ignores their user base.
