ad 1.: I do not know the existence of a limit of pages…I see no other solution as to disallow the "Create" in such categories for the members, but allow the edit of this one page in the special category- built by joining the profil-category and the username to one single category ( = category "profil-helmut-pdorf" in my case) and to give a standard name "profil" . But this means the creation must be done by an admin for every new member..

The other way round is to allow the creation and edit only for the "author" of that page in the "profil" category - this could also be a private category - viewable only for members..

ad 2. I have the feeling this depends on the Zoom-factor ( the font size) of that page in the browser ? I cannot help in this case, I am nopt a css-guru

1. I'm working on a site that allows users to create their own profile page but I want to prevent them from creating more than one page. Is there a way to limit the number of pages that a user can create within a category?

You can do something like this with ListUsers and URL-variables. This creates an edit link for the currently logged in user's profile:

…and this creates a link for the profile page:

[[module ListUsers users="."]]
[http://yoursite.wikidot.com/profile:%%name%% View your profile]
[[/module]]

Remember to set the appropriate view/edit permissions for the "profile"-category so that other site members cannot edit the profile (or view if preferred).

You can use a data form if you want to fine tune the profile page (profile:_template):
