I posted this over at the developer wikidot site, but I'm not sure if anybody is active over there, so I'll request in here just in case.
Hello!
Over on the TI Basic Developer, we had some problems with the integrated chatboxes because they weren't as flexible as we would like them (realtime messaging), and other third party chatboxes did not offer a developer API that would allow us to integrate that app into Wikidot (in order to prevent spam users). The previous chatbox, which did not track users and did not integrate with Wikidot, was okay until we had some impersonation issues. This caused us to shut it down on April 18, 2017.
Recently, I have discovered a Google service called Firebase, which primarily gives authentication services, databases, storage, and hosting. With this, I was able to create a simple chat application that requires Google authentication to be able to read and write data from the database (so basically, read and write messages), and is also near realtime in terms of messaging. You can see a demo here. The chatbox is basically finished, but we still need an API key to be able to use the users.get_me method in order to use the Wikidot users name instead of the Google Account name. That's where my request comes in for an API key to use for this.
I would greatly appreciate if I were granted this API key. Thanks in advance! :)
