I would like to create a wiki for students at my school, and while most content would be public, I would like to have some areas only accessable to students (past papers, exam notes, etc). Is there a way to hide certain pages? Ideally registered users would have access to everything while anonymous users would see these pages.
Hi,
unfortunately not yet. There will be however option for "private sites", i.e. sites that can be viewed only by its members. So you could have 2 sites: one for public and one for your students. Would this work for you?

Hi michal,
I have the same requirement with testerdood.
I want to make sure whether this feature will be
implemented soon or it is a violation to wikidot's
public policy and will never be considered.
Actually, wikidot is the BEST free wiki site comparing
to 6 of others I tried before. I really love it! But most
contents of my wiki will only be used by my workgroup.
The minimum requirement for content security is that
I don't want other people to see the site without permission.
If you cannot fit this, I have to find another free wiki. You
know, that would be a very very tough problem. ^_^

Hi,
private wikis will be here for sure within a few weeks. The problem now is how to organize payments (technical issues — paypal? google checkout? … ?) and what you get for the money, i.e. detailed offer. Just let me think about it a bit more. I am sure you will be happy with it!
So — stay tuned! I am glad you like Wikidot ;-)

Hi michal,
I would rather not have the entire wiki private, but unfortunately I may have to. The idea of having 2 sites is really good though. That would make administration a bit more difficult, but it could be the best solution.
Thanks for your reply. You have some unique features that make this site very cool. Keep up the good work!
