Hi,
I maintain a open site, but members cannot edit my pages and access some parts of it. Members just get some extra privileges. I would not like somebody to know everything about what I am building. But the recent contributions in the user info page reveals it all.
Is there a way to control this?
you should put the system: category at the permissions out of the standard-default and set the "view" for all to "no".
This makes the category "system:" a "private" on ( look at glosBlog: http://community.wikidot.com/blog:private-category-available )
and you should create a page "system:_public" ( which is allowed to view) tpo explain with a little message that thos category is private..
But be aware that this does not prevent hacker type users to have a look on such content ( niot the private page) - they only have to know how to use the "recent-changes" call. on one of their own pages..

This still does not clear the air. Let me be more precise. An anonymous user is able to access the page http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/<username>. The word <username> should be replaced with mine. Clicking on 'Recent Contributions' on the left side tab shows all my recent contributions. I would lke an anonymous user not to access it. Is this possible?

I set view permission to "No". But my user info is still viewable to an anonymous user.

As of now, it seems that, if someone anonymous knows my username, then he can see all my recent activities.

I did not get this part. Isn't "recent-changes" that is http://<sitename>.wikidot.com/system:recent-changes different from "recent-contributions" on http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/<username> ?
Yes - you are correct - there is the same content on the 2 pages…

Yes - there is a posibility to "hide" your profile - page with the last changes:
on your account settings is ( for pro + I think only) http://www.wikidot.com/account/settings#/visibility a possibiolity to hide these "profile" page..
you can have a look on the handbook:
http://handbook.wikidot.com/en:my-account under http://handbook.wikidot.com/en:my-account#toc4 (Settings) how this works.
If you have not a Pro+ account but a pro acount ( medium) than you have the possibility on YOUR OWN SITE(s) to switch on the "Site Profiles" in the admin site-manager on Site branding menu - which is at the moment stopping the view / link to global user profile page and showing only the "site user profile" - which is dependent of your own "_template".

But I think this does not help you really now…
EDIT: the last proposal does not prevent your (global) user:info/#### page to be found over the global user search on the main site!
I think - the only way to hide your last activity from non members is a pro+ account…

I think it is better to provide this feature for normal accounts too (may be this s not right place for the feature request). Else, a good part of open/closed/private system is lost. Just my opinion :)

But as I have written at the first moment - you should "try" the "private category" tecchnic - an anonymous guest can than read the titles of your changes in the overview - but have no chance to READ/View the pages itself.
You have to move all the secret pages (only allowed to view for members perhaps or mods) to a special "privat:" category and set the permissions for anonymous to no view…
This is not possibel for the _default category
