My site, http://mmovies.wikidot.com/, seems to have been deleted. The message I get when clicking on it is
"Site deleted

The site you are trying to reach has been deleted by Wikidot Team.
If you think it was deleted unfoundedly, please contact moc.todikiw|troppus#moc.todikiw|troppus"

I sent a message to support on November 7th but still haven't heard back. What happened? And can it be recovered? It was just a list of movies I want to see, and I'm sad that it's gone.

I had a look on the delete logs of the spam-tools.. your site is / was not deleted by an automatic spam-controlling tool or an admin - as I cannot find any detail of this site…

Loosk like some on who has the right to do this - has deleted your site.

There is another way:

Please - go to http://www.wikidot.com/account/sites#/deleted and try to find this site ( you wil find this only if you was the master admin..)

I am affraid -we of the community cannot help you here…if you cannot find your site on your sccount you should ask the support team again..

I found it on http://www.wikidot.com/account/sites#/deleted. I'm the master admin, so I tried to restore it, and it said that it was deleted for violation of Terms of Service. It was literally an unordered list of movies I wanted to see, nothing more. I can't imagine how that would violate ToS. I sent another email to Support on 12/25 but they didn't respond.

In the scheme of things, this isn't a big deal and doesn't have much of an impact on my life, but it's bizarre and annoying that something that doesn't actually violate ToS gets deleted with no warning and that support won't respond.

I know they are not always quick to respond to emails, but this was Christmas Day so probably one or two of them were taking the day off.

We of course can't see the link you gave as it is related to your account.

As we can't see site on the webspam log there is nothing we admins can do to review and restore it, so I'm afraid you'll have to keep trying to get a response from support.

Oh, the Xmas thing I understand, but they also still haven't responded to the email I sent on Nov 7th asking what had happened.

Is this sort of thing common?

You should not forget that "pro" accounts are answered quickly - they have a right on this.
Using a free account you are in a queue with a lot of others - tssi queue is a little bit "longer" therefore!

It depends on the content of the lists… if they were a collection of outgoing links to foreign sites than the spammer-auto delete function could have thougth this is a spammer site?
if the lists is only a list of titles and the links are goin g to the movies "home" … than this is too an adsense only on a page.

If your site has ONLY such links ( and no other kind of content, menue and so on) than this IS a kind of SEO technic to make the search results for such links better.
And the auto spammer detection works again…

Thanks to the Wikdiot support team!

(They have found the missed site on an archive ..)

But why this site was deleted by any automatic - this is really strange!

What do we learn from this :

On a database ( and this Wiki farm is a big database) nothing is lost forever … :)

PS - support never responded to my second email, either, for some reason.
