I am new to this and I keep getting the dreaded little red cross everytime I try to get images onto my pages. I have tried opening a flickr account, embedding a jpg file. Nothing works.
I am probably being really thick but a simple guide to the best ways of using images on the site would be really helpful.

Thanks to your post I found how to display an image attached to a different page.
However, it would be interesting to have a default common directory where to store reusable images.
I.e. when uploading files I would like to have the choice between the current page and the common directory…
… and when inserting image with the image wizard I would be able to pick the image from the common directory.

I think that it would be nice to have a fourth source in the insert image wizard e.g. a common (shared) Wikidot image repository.
