Box grouping

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I haD previously asked this question but did not get the desired results. What I meant to put was how can you group these items together so that instead having three A's I can have just one but the 1,2,3 still remain in their own spaces

In fact Ed gave you the way to do this with simple tables in response to your previous post.

But you can also do it with complex tables as follows:

I actually gave you 3 methods (simple tables, a div block and complex tables), but you never replied to let us know if it helped.
