Just tried it on IE8 and it didn't work (black semi-opaque screen like you get when saving a page). Will try it on IE9 on a different machine a bit later.

Works fine on IE9.

Haha… True. But we're still stuck on IE7/8 on the computers at school…

It would be cool if you could add support for both formats.

Okay, I've rebuilt the entire thing from scratch. There's no freeze time and auto-fill works now. You might have to re-install the bookmarklet for it to work.

I've tested it on:

• Google Chrome (latest version)
• Mozilla FF 16.0.1
• IE 9 (NOTE: PMs send OK, but page does not redirect to inbox again once PMs sent)

I tried now and it seems that the recognizing famialiar names (or autocomplete) doesn't work as it should. For example, it says there's no user with the username similar to rob-elliot, and the difference is just a space instead of a dash. Rob's username did appear, though, bur just once and just for a second, but as I missed to click it, it didn't appear again. It seems that if a username is composed of two words linked with a dash or with a blank space between them, it doesn't recognize it, so it doesn't offer it in the drop down menu of similar names in autocomplete.

I don't know for sure what's Phil's username, and I typed phil-, then phil, then phil-ch, then phil cha… The programme should recognize the similar name, but it doesn't. It gives me only the usernames which are just one word, consisting of "phil", like phil109, phil0003, etc… The same goes for james-kanjo…

correction: I wrote james- and it gave me the list of names with james-something, but there was no james-kanjo. When I added K, it saved me the name as james-k which of course, doesn't exist. The drop down menu doesn't move down i.e. it gives just a certain number of names which are not even ordered by alphabetical order, because right now, it gives me the first name as James-666 and the last is James-R-Rummel. Kanjo must be before R, but it isn't.

Edit:It seems that I sent a PM to some other rob elliot, because now I see that Rob's username is robelliot, not rob elliot. :D I guess this is just the other Rob's account here, but the thing is that robelliot didn't appear in autocomplete…

My addon script works exactly the same as the normal private message autocomplete (which imo, is pretty bad). It takes usernames literally… so for usernames like James Kanjo and Phil Chett, you would use a space because that's how James registered the username (as James[space]Kanjo).

In the case of Rob, his usernames is RobElliott which doesn't have a space.
Edit: yes, unfortunately, the autocomplete engine is not smart enough to prioritise usernames.

I know that it doesn't work too well in terms of suggestions, that's as good as Wikidot's current APIs can provide us.

Edit: the Wikidot engine works like this:

• Usernames with spaces must be searched with a space (hyphens don't equal to spaces here)
• Usernames are not case sensitive
• Usernames are ordered in alphabetical order with numerals prioritised first

Edit 2: Here is a video that covers the two type of autocomplete:

It's not possible to register james-kanjo if James Kanjo already exists. So, if it sent (check your Wikidot sent box), it would have gone to James Kanjo. However, you should check the spelling of it because it's not possible for MultiPM to send messages to usernames formatted incorrectly. The usernames will automatically be made correct. So:

1. Enter james kanj in a textbox
2. Click away and username will be checked
3. Program to fix it to James Kanjo and display a tick next to it.

Only when a tick (✓) appears next to a fixed username will a PM be sent to the user. Usernames with X or ! will not be sent.

I tried it again and I think the problem is because it is a little bit slow. It doesn't show right away the desired username, but you have to wait some seconds, which, I suppose, got me to the idea that it doesn't work as it should.

When I type phil c or james k, Phil's and James' usernames appear in the second group — first some five of six names appear, then they disappear, and another five or six names appear among which there are both Phil's and James' usernames.

Yeah, there are many awesome tweaks for the autocomplete engine that Wikidot uses. But unfortunately, the API is too slow to support them.

Also in Chrome not workking…. !!!!

There is the problem occured that the http call of the Multi-PM script is unsecure on the https - messages of wikidot main / account screen.

Chrome asks me if I want to run the unsecure sub-script (FF not) and answered with a https in the url.

( in FF i have not yet found the switch to allow unsecure scripts on the https-wikidot message screen..)
