New thread does not appear!

I'm trying to set up a new Wiki for my team project. One problem I'm having is that new threads created in the forum never actually show up. The thread titles appear in the forum , but when you actually click on the thread title, you only get a blank page with the title "The page does not (yet) exist." Even a day after the creation of a thread, you see the same blank page.

Any idea?

1. your site http://boston101.wikidot.com/ is set to "private" … we have no chance to see anything.

2. Have you setup all categories and groups ion the forum setup ?

mewans - have you saved all your setup?

3. Have you deleted or changed anyone of the 5 neccessary "forum:" pages ( looks like your error message) ?

Yes, the site contains sensitive material, so I couldn't make it public.

But the link you provided turned out to be bingo! For some reason, the forum:thread page was missing, and recreating it solved the problem.

Since the site will be for a collaborative project, I'm going to appoint a number of administrators, any one of whom can easily mess up the forum like I must have done inadvertently. Is there any way to "protect" the forum from unintended destruction?

Admns have full permissions across the site. But you don't need to make the other people administrators. They can just be members and you can fine-tune what they are allowed to do (create pages, delete pages, upload files etc) for each category of page in Site Manager -> Permissions.

So in the forum category you would un-check all the boxes of the delete pages line in the forum category so that only you had permission to do it.
