I want to give my members a password to sign up. Do they have to have a WIKIDot account?
I was under the impression that they didn't have to have one by reading the documentation.
However when I test my wiki I keep getting red boxes that says I need an account.

Hi,
indeed they need to have an account… But they can create one just on your Site by clicking "create account" in the top-right corner. After that they can provide a password to become members on the system:join page, which you should adapt to your needs…
I am working on other way, e.g. email invitations that will direct users through all the process. Also the "joining modules" will be improved soon.

As the administrator of the wiki, I am having problems logging in.
I keep being referred to the 'Join this Site' page - even after loggin in. When I click on login in the upper-right,
I get a message that says 'Oops! You are already logged on.'
No matter which one of my wiki pages I try to enter within the address bar, I keep getting the 'Join this Site'
page. It only seems to be a problem when I check the 'Bond session to my IP' box at login. I then need to
exit wikidot clear my cookies and make sure that I don't check that box - then I am able to log on.
Any help would be appreciated as to why this is happening.

Hi,
some users complain about proxy caches on their way to Wikidot that for some reason ignore the "do not cache" information Wikidot embeds in pages. If you happen to have such a proxy between you and Wikidot this might be an issue.
There were also a few cases with terribly configured proxies that resulted in something that you have described. Check your browser settings if you are using a proxy. If yes - try to disable it. If no - there still might be a proxy set by your internet provider.

Old thread, but the problem appears to persist. One of my site members reports the very same issue. There is no local proxy on the member's site, but the ISP (AOL?) might well be using transparent proxies along the way.
So, what's the solution?
