Unfortunately the only way to restrict that particular module is to change the limit, or to hide certain parts of it's output using CSS.
Could you be more specific about exactly what you want to change? Then we can give you better instructions, or at least say that it isn't possible.

I'm using comments on pages to create answers, but its being counted as a forum thread. I do not want this to happen

Then you'll need to convert to page-based comments. It's a bit of work to set up, but it can be done so it mimics the forums built-in per-page discussions. See bcammo's fantastic CSS3 blog site for an example. He has created one of the nicest blogs with page based discussion that you'll find anywhere - not just on Wikidot!
