How to add another page to my wiki

My first time here. I have set up my wiki. It has a home page and menu. I want to add another page. The only way I could figure out how to do it is:

http://fpt.wdfiles.com/local--files/courses-in-pc/CATS.htm

But, it seems like there should be a way to create http://fpt.wikidot.com/courses-in-pc/CATS.htm

How would I do that?? Thank you. Frances

You can always create a page called "cats" ( or cats-tutorial ?) which gets the url of
http://fpt.wikidot.com/cats ( which is not yet created! ) either

• bei changing the link of the "Tutorial" in the line

* CATS 2012 PARAMETERIZED COMPLEXITY [[[cats | TUTORIAL]]], Melbourne, AU at ACSW Week on FRIDAY, February 3, 2012.
or by a long http url:
* CATS 2012 PARAMETERIZED COMPLEXITY [*http://fpt.wikidot.com/catscats TUTORIAL], Melbourne, AU at ACSW Week on FRIDAY, February 3, 2012.
both gives the link to the wished page.. but the first is the internal link which works with "backlinks too".

Click on the link and - if the page is not Yet created - you will be asked to create it…

( later I would parent this cats page with the http://fpt.wikidot.com/courses-in-pc page)

Based on the link you've given your site has a lot more than just a home page and a menu!

Have a look at http://community.wikidot.com/getting-started which will give you some initial guidance.

But, it seems like there should be a way to create http://fpt.wikidot.com/courses-in-pc/CATS.htm

No, for 2 reasons: firstly Wikidot sites do not work like standard website with a folder structure, we use categories to structure sites Secondly, although Wikidot does create an html page when you save your page we do not use html or htm suffixes at all, you always just use the pagename or the category:pagename.

There are several ways to add a new page but one easy way is to just enter the name of your page in the browser address bar and press Enter: so you would enter http://fpt.wikidot.com/CATS.

Based on your links you seem to want a page that is a sub-page of courses-in-pc. .A wikidot site does not work in the same way as a standard website structure so entering http://fpt.wikidot.com/courses-in-pc/CATS is not the right format - you need to understand categories and parenting. You could either set the new page's parent to be courses-in-pc from the options button at the bottom of the page after you've saved the new page. Or you could create a category called courses-in-pc and then a page in that category called cats. You create a category and a page in that category in exactly the same way as I described in the first paragraph except that the category and pagename are separated by a colon. So you would enter http://fpt.wikidot.com/**coursesin-pc:cats**. You can read more about categories at http://community.wikidot.com/howto:how-to-create:categories

That should get you started but do come back with any further questions.

Could be I have misunderstood your question ( you have some pages created on your site..)

build your wished page with some tables:

http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax#custom-tables ( tables can be nested!)

I don't think Frances was asking anything about tables, just how to create a new page, but I could be wrong.
