Adsense and site language

I wonder whether Adsense looks at this sentence taken from the generated html source
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
to determine the site language and the ad targeted language.

The Ads on my site are often in English when I would like to have them in French !

Hi,

no, AdSense ignores this and adapts to the language of the content as far as I know. So do not worry about it and just see how it works.
