When you have dark winters like we do here in Finland, you start appreciating the snow, it just gives so much light. This and last winters have been good, but before that we had about two or three winters with very little snow. It was so depressing, muddy and dark and dogs and kids brought tons of dirt inside the house. Some people here don't like the snow but I totally disagree with them (they seem to already have forgotten those almost snowless winters).
Here's what we did last saturday with my son, his friend and his friend's father. First few hours of intense snowboarding. Then home and straight to the sauna. From the sauna, rolling to the snow, back to the sauna, to the snow etc. (it makes your blood flow extremely efficiently and you feel really warm for the rest of the day). The kids were brave enough to run around the house (I didn't do that because the lady next door would probably have called the police :). Then some home baked pizza and after that, some red wine at the fireplace (adults only of course, this is not France). After these "rituals", the relaxation was total.
