How do we get email notifications for individual threads?
we're trying to do a support forum for an app

Unfortunately, you can't. If your forum hasn't been used much yet, you can move to a page-based forum instead with a Comments module on each page. That would allow users to watch individual threads.

With the default wikidot forum, you can only watch threads using RSS.

I've asked for this repeatedly, but never had any response.

Just now I moved the wish over to the feedback site. It's here, please vote it up.
