It would be extremely helpful to know exactly when editing of meta-tags is expected to become available, and if it will be enabled on all wikidot.com hosted wikis. This is not just to do with search engines etc.: in some jurisdictions there is now an obligation to meet double-A / Priority 1+2 accessibility standards (WAI), which require meta tags to be set for language, description and keywords. In theory at least, no gov.uk website can be hosted on wikidot because of the missing meta-tags. Indeed, any UK-based organisation is at risk of legal action if their websites fall short when accessed against WAI . I was about to recommend wikidot for a gov.uk site, but cannot do so until it is possible to set meta-tags.
[I appreciate that other CMS/wiki software falls short in this critical respect. I have been contacting the developers of any web-related software I use or recommend in order to persuade them that they really should pay very close attention to meeting WAI priority 1+2 / double-A accessibility, even if they personally think (e.g.) meta-tags are pointless.]
Best wishes,
Chris
