I have recently set up a private wikidot site for a group of 10 volunteers working on a group project. Some have been able to log in flawlessly. Others are having various problems. Most of the problems seem to go away if they install and run Firefox. So that's fine. But in two cases at least right now, even when using Firefox, they are unable to login.
Things we've tried:
1. Use Firefox
2. One fix we identified was to login at the wikidot main portal page. And then after logging in successfully, users could turn their browser to our private site (btw, we are using a custom domain name) and get in.
3. SSL is off. I had wanted to run with that, but have decided to take that variable out of the equation.
4. Unbinding IP at login - or binding it. Neither makes any difference.
5. We are testing to see if turning off a firewall will assist.
6. We are testing to see if clearing cookies will help.
In the end, it is a bit too much to expect users to do all of these things to get in. Please advise. We are highly impressed with the system but frustrated with the login because if I can't get users on, they won't use the site.
Thanks for you prompt help. And again - congrats on some great software!
Keith
