I was about to update the custom domain how-to, so I thought I'd work through its steps again.

The wikidot IP address has changed, so I pinged it. Here's what I get:

I looked up the error message, and here's what I find:

Essentially, this error message indicates that your host did not receive the ping message back from the destination device within the designated time period. Assuming that the network connectivity is okay on your system, this is typically an indicator that the destination device is not connected to the network, is powered off, or is not configured correctly.

Any concern with this?

Wikidot has only disabled pings. It still responds to http requests and the address is the same.

The instruction to do a ping is just the simplest way to get the IP address: 74.86.234.149, the ping itself has no value. There are other purer ways to get that information, but probably not on an un-enhanced Windows machine.
