I created Wedding Band Alternatives to be an informative directory of the different choices guys have when their picking out their wedding band.
This is what I like about wikidot. On wikidot you never know what fascinating wiki will come along next. First, I'd like to thank you for being one of a handfull of people who created content in their wikis before posting. It's not much, but it's there.
Wedding bands had been the furthest thing from my mind when you posted your wiki, but I found the site fascinating anyway. I like the coin rings. :)
Only one problem. You are hotlinking your images. Please email the sites for permission to show their ring pictures on your site. Explain your purpose and your passion, and that you will credit the pictures. Also explain that you will make upload local copies in your wiki so that you will not be using their bandwith. With a wiki like yours, I believe there's a very good chance you will easily get this permission.
Please do this and keep building this wiki, and when you find something new, PM me.

I've emailed some of them, only reason I haven't gotten through all of them yet is because I didn't think anyone would really complain about getting free advertising for their products and it's a long list, but I'll try to go ahead and finish that. didn't consider the bandwidth thing, that'll be easy to fix though.
by the way, depending on the tag word you search for, I'm on the first page of google =]
Chances are that they wouldn't complain about the free advertising, but you'd be surprised sometimes. Most complaints would come from, as you've realized, the bandwidth used. I'm really glad you've decided to contact the companies :)
You may receive a higher ranking in search engines than your site normally would had it been around the longer with the same amount of incoming links, simply because your site is new. It is common belief among people who have been developing websites for a long time that search engines do this to "give the little guy a chance" and "give the new guy a chance."
