Editorial

Just a quick note. This could be the last Wikidot Admin on the forum in the old traditional sense. As soon as I have the community portal, I'm going to be writing it wikipedia style, which is where the inspiration for the new community portal is coming from.

CSS Colors

CSS Colors uses hex numbers to define colors. They look like this #FEF and #FEE348

The thing about hexadecimal numbers is that they don't go from 0 to 9 like decimal, they go from 0 to F :

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F

The three-digit hex is an easy way to define colors. Each digit mixes in a certain amount of Red Green or Blue, or RGB :

#F00 : red
#0F0 : green
#00F : blue

If you turn all three all the way up to F, you get white :

#FFF : white

if you turn all three all the down to 0 you get black :

#000 : black

The six digit hex color works the same way above, except it uses two digits for RGB

#FF0000 - red
#00FF00 - green
#0000FF - blue
