Nothing special. Your website will be indexed by Google like billions of sites in the Universe. (Google is now indexing the sky…).
However, it is possible for you to customize your own Google search engine.
HowTo is here : http://community.wikidot.com/howto:add-a-custom-google-search-engine
When you create a public wiki, it is listed here : http://www.wikidot.com/list-all-sites
Because this page is already in Google's database, it will follow links from this page and spider those sites as well. It takes time.
If you are searching for your site after awhile and it doesn't turn up, that means that your site does not have the ranking it needs to be seen on the first few pages you check.

Here's a little trick I used for the Art Tutorials Wiki:
I went through the list of newest tutorials at DeviantArt. I added links to these tutorials from my wiki. Then I added a comment to these tutorials at DeviantArt that notified the creator that the tutorial had been linked to from the wiki, as well as a link to the precise page on the wiki where that link can be found.
The results in Google searches are obvious - at the time of this writing, the Art Tutorials Wiki is at the #10 spot when googling for "art tutorials. After all, the Google PageRank system rates your site as "more important" if other sites link to yours more often - which is something I have accomplished all by myself. :D
Spammers often operate on the same principle, BTW. Except that unlike them, I don't get hated for my activities… ;)
