Where's Michal?

The first ever, unpublished, Wiki Madman included an article with exactly that title — Where's Michal? Not too long after I joined wikidot, I wondered that myself. The lack of Michal's communication with the community worried me, the lack of changes in the changelog worried me. It seemed that wikidot had been deserted by Michal, and it was only a matter of time before the whole thing was going to come crashing down….

And here we are. Still going. Still growing.

After receiving a couple of PMs asking about the stability of wikidot due to the lack of activity by Michal, I realize that some of you must be going through the same paranoia I went through early on. You check the changelog, you check Michal's posts and contributions and find … nothing recent.

Well, you just have to know Michal like I do. Michal is a madman — and he is banging out new features as we speak like only the muppet Animal can bang on drums. Be glad he's missing, he's giving you new features.

In fact, this is why I am the head admin. I'm here to assist the community and delete spam, but honestly, lately the other admins have been doing a much better job than I have. I loves yous guys. (ahem) Anyway, the point is that he knows he seems MIA (missing in action) when he's slavishly working on code, and that's why we are here.

Wikidot will be here tomorrow. I will be here tomorrow. And we'll all eat tacos. Or, maybe not. At any rate, wikidot will continue on, with or without tacos.

One final note, I have spoken with Michal as soon as yesterday and I've been informed that I will be relieved of my duties as head admin relatively soon as the official head admin cometh soon. Whew! It's about time. :) I do feel sad, but really, is the Zaphod Beeblebrox of wiki (me) really right for this position?

Treat the new admin well when she comes.

I do not understand the half of your text - who is Zaphod Beeblebrox ?
( I have no time to google now!
I only remember some president of the universe ( or galaxy ?)

Do you mean - you, president of our universe :) , are not right for such position ?
Who else?
The accountant of our universe ?
The controllers ?
The security chief ?
The press/ media chief ?

I understand, that someone else will come and we ( the lower ones) should treat them.

What means treat here ?
And what "well" ?

Do not forget you are a native speaker - most of our poor underdogs ( and not zaphod …) are not !

Please , translate your good wishes in "poor" English for the rest of the universe
( but not in kitchen - English)..

Zaphod Beeblebrox is a fictional character in the various versions of the humorous science fiction story The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams who based him on his Cambridge contemporay, Johnny Simpson.[1]

He is from a planet in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, and is a "semi-cousin" of Ford Prefect, with whom he "shares three of the same mothers". Due to "an accident with a contraceptive and a time machine", his direct ancestors from his father (Zaphod Beeblebrox the Second) are also his direct descendants.

:) I meant Zaphod Beeblerox as a flamboyant character, lol. Read this and then look at my user-icon.

As a character, Zaphod is hedonistic and irresponsible, self-centered almost to the point of solipsism, and often extremely insensitive to the feelings of those around him. In the books and radio series, he is nevertheless quite intelligent, though he sometimes prefers not to make this obvious, and can be briefly shamed into better behaviour.

According to screening tests that Zaphod ran on himself in the Heart of Gold's medical bay, he is "clever, imaginative, irresponsible, untrustworthy, extrovert, nothing you couldn't have guessed" (Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, page 98).

Zaphod invented the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, and is the only person able to drink more than three of them at one sitting. He was voted "Worst Dressed Sentient Being in the Known Universe" for seven years in a row. He's been described as "the best Bang since the Big One" by Eccentrica Gallumbits, and as "one hoopy frood" by others. In the seventh episode of the original radio series, the narrator describes Beeblebrox as being the "owner of the hippest place in the universe" (his own left cranium), as voted on in a poll of the readers of the fictional magazine Playbeing.

If you are not sure that the admin is coming, well, it's been in the works for a long, long time. What I was told amounts to the "short notice" I get before something actually does happen, so I'll bet you 5 bucks on it. :)

If you are not sure that the admin will be able to get more done than me, well, you guys get more done than me. :) Sure, I initiated the handbook, but who built it? One of you admins is worth ten of me. But this new admin will have the keys to wikidot that will allow her to get things done, like changing the featured content, etc. Because the admin will be directly associated with Michal, she will have a plan to follow. I welcome her. :) I hope you do too.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not leaving. I'll still be an admin (the most useless of admins, but still). I just won't get the pride of saying "I'm Shawn Hartnell, head admin…." :)

Hi Hartnell!

Please, do not write yourself so down under the table…

every admin doing the work here is welcome, because every help is welcome!
Every admin has another goodies to bring into the team and to fit into the place we make her/him here at the "table".

Another issue - the funny thing is : the english word "still" means in german "absolutely quiet"… and my first thought was : this I can not imagine!
But to come to an end:
You can be proud of saying: "I am Shawn Hartnell!" . You need no explaining attribute for this!
