Apparently, it's not possible to have tags containing the apostrophe. Thus one gets the peculiar situation of being able to use tags containing phonetic symbols and other atypical characters, but not the trivial apostrophe, which is a common character in a few languages. Any way that can be fixed?
Am I posting this in the right place?
Yes, this is fine. Just need to wait for pieter to see this and comment on whether it's possible/feasible.

Thanks, Shane! I get a little confused as to where to post such questions sometimes. Looking forward to a response from Pieter…
It's probably because the apostrophe is a string delimiter. Since tags are stored as strings, things are getting tripped up. Typically, you can escape "reserved" characters by preceding them with a backslash. Testing this actually allows the tag to be saved, but unfortunately the backslash is also stored and displayed.
a'postrophe gives an error when saving tags, but a\'postrophe will save. Also, a double a''postrophe will save, but both are displayed (another method sometimes used to escape special characters).
I suspect this should be a fairly easy fix by testing for apostrophes in tags and escaping them properly before saving.

This took so long only because we have been quite busy with improving logging in, creating accounts and introducing "open membership". And there was a weekend meanwhile ;-)

Amazing, guys! Thank you so much, on behalf of all of us who need to use it often (Hawai'ians included).
Michal,
I hope you don't think I was suggesting this took a long time to fix. I think a response in about a week is more than reasonable, in fact it's pretty fast! Even if the fix was simple, we can't expect you to drop everything when these things are reported. If your work pattern is anything like mine, I find it much harder to stay focused when I am constantly jumping from task to task. It's much more efficient to keep working away on one thing until it's done than having to continually going back to the same project because I keep getting interrupted with more trivial matters. It is always harder to get back "in the rhythm" of the work you were doing after an interruption. Of course in the real world, some of those interruptions aren't trivial and you have to drop what you're doing and take care of something else (like a broken new site creation or something).
Thanks for all you do - I don't think we tell you and the rest of the team that often enough. Wikidot continues to grow more impressive nearly every day.
