CountPages and _template

CountPages in a live template prints out a few too many percent signs.

The page in question, and its template, are on a private site, but here's the problem and code:

When used in a live template as follows:

[[=]]
[[module CountPages category="*" parent="%%page_unix_name%%"]]
%%count%% logs posted for %%content{1}%%.
[[/module]]
[[/=]]

CountPages prints this in the derived pages:

%%%2%%% logs posted for August 2009.

Sorry, I must be half asleep.

The CountPages module only allows the %%count%% variable. Nothing else. By putting %%content{1}%% in there you are causing it to become confused.

This is something to be looked into. I tried it out on the sandbox without success:

• :1
• :2 (this is a child of :1)

It's a bug.

It is not related to %%content{1}%% — even the following simple _template code (that works fine on the template itself) fails to display correctly on a normal page.

[[module CountPages category="count"]]
%%count%% pages in category "count"
[[/module]]

Yup. I've raised an issue. It works outside a template, fails inside it. I've extended that count:1 and count:_template to prove it.

We've fixed the issue and are pushing that to production. I'll update the changelog and let you know here when it's ready for use.

Now the %%content{1}%% marker isn't substituting inside CountPages.

The CountPages module lets count the number of pages that match various criteria. CountPages is similar to the ListPages module in some ways but does not let you render page data, only a single symbol called %%count%%.

Sorry, but this is not working in this manner… the content(n) variable is not know in the module.

CAn you try to use ListPages with the child.. varible - this counts the children of a page with a given ..created_by.. or such selections?
