Hello, I am having a very difficult problem logging in. Is there someone here who can help me?
Here's the problem. I have set up a custom domain name. But now, when I log in, it takes me away from the custom domain name to a www.MYDOMAIN.wikidot.com/afterlogin.php page that goes NOWHERE. I had two other members try to login and they report the same issue. Then, if I type in the browser: www.MYDOMAIN.com, it automatically takes me to the logged in homepage. Why is it doing this?
If anyone does read this, and has a solution, that would be wonderful. I am happy to pay for your time and expertise.
The only answer I have to this problem ( I have no custom domain in use) is to make login to the main wikidot.com site ( and open your activity screen from your account!) - and then go in a second step to the mydomain.com site. ( allready logged in).
I made never a logout ( why shoud i do) from my standard pc at home or my business laptop at journey / vacancy.

Hi Helmut,
Thanks for your help. While that will work, it just doesn't seem like the right answer: if they offer custom domain names, then the custom domain names should actually work, ya know?
Why is there no customer support? I am willing to pay for it. This is so frustrating.

Monroe, sorry, just seen this thread as I've been travelling. There is nothing wrong with the way that Wikidot handles custom domains. I have many running and they all work the way they should do. As far as I can see it your problem is not related to the custom domain itself but is what hapens after you go login. What should happen is that the start page of your site comes up. If I understand it a blank page just continues and you only get to the start page if you re-enter the address in the browser address bar. We've seen the problem before but is more usually a browser-related problem than something that is wrong with the way that custom domains per se are working.
What is the custom domain you are trying to open so I can see what it does for me?
Which browser and version are you using and does it also happen if you use a different browser?
As yo your point about customer support: the Wikidot community provides first line customer support for Wikidot and always has done. And we do it a lot better than Wikidot would do it themselves! We escalate to Wikidot if there is a technical issue and if we need to discuss something with them we have our own private support forum for that. There is no method for paying for assistance or additional support.

Hi Rob,
Thanks ever so much for replying! Really means a lot to me.
I'm going to try to send a private message to you with the domain because the site's not "live" yet, and I have run into trouble before posting 'unlaunched sites' on support forums.
If you don't hear from me, could you simply send me a private message or send me an email at: findingsummer at aol.com? I will reply with the URL and then come back to the forums for additional dialogue.

May I ask why you bild a ( free) wiki / site on wikidot parallel to your "real business site" (linked one to the other in both directions on their home pages) ?
Either this isw a clever idea to spam the link to your busines site on another site for better search results (which is a nogo for wikidot and google)
or are you splitting a part of the business site to the wiki ( like a forum) with lot of work and pages (which speaks against a simple web spam?
I do not understand why you are doing this.

Hey I have a custom domain and have had the same problems. My suggestions would be login like you normally login but when It gets stuck on the please wait part just go to the page you are trying to login to and refresh the page. Once you do that it should see that you are logged in. Once you see that you are close out of the please wait tab.
This works for me. Hopefully the developers will fix this bug.
