Is there a way to close a forum thread ?

Is there a way to close a forum thread ? I.e. no more posts in a discussion but still readable.

No, but it's something I've often wished for, especially if it was automatic (open for comments for 20 days, etc.)

Sure you can.

In the thread, click on “more options” and then “posting block”.

Regular users will not be able to post new messages to this thread (if they still try, they'll get a message saying “Sorry, this thread is blocked. Nobody can add new posts nor edit existing ones.”) but Administrators and Forum Moderators will still be allowed to post.

Right, yes. On forums.

I don't use forums, which is why I always forget this. Using the Comments module, there is no way to close the discussions.

You can set a posting block for a thread that was started using the Comments module. Follow these steps:

• go to forum:start/hidden/show (which is equivalent to clicking “show hidden”; that's necessary, as in an initial, unchanged configuration “per page” threads are in a hidden category “Per page discussions”
• in the “Per page discussions” category, look for the related thread
• in the thread, click on “+ more options”, then “posting block”
