"You have aquired an exlusive 15-minute page lock…"
Should be acquired and exclusive
Thank you. I am not a native speaker so please forgive me. These were awful indeed ;-) I hope to have some "language bugsquash" soon but I am thankful for any report here!

"aquired" is still there in the page lock message.

Wow, people can compare the differeces of revisions of a single post here! No other forum engines have ever done this! So powerful this wiki!
On http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax a sentence starts "The Wiki Sytnax is used …"
thank you, corrected ;-)
On http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax#toc14 there are two typos:
1. In the second column the third closing bracket is missing (that's probably why the link isn't active)
| [ custom text] | [ custom text | using custom text |
2. Here it should read "Documentation" instead of "Ducumentation"
| [Documentation] | Ducumentation | linking to an existing page (different color) |
I'm sorry, I didn't catch it properly, because I was panicing about getting back into my wiki - but there is a typo on the 'I forgot my password' run of pages.
I noticed that those two typos above haven't yet been fixed and I'm wondering whether I could do it myself.
Can I? Do I have to somehow apply for editing rights?

Click on edit and see what happens
You can't, because there is no edit button on http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax (at least I don't have or see one). In general, all of http://www.wikidot.com does not show an edit button (for me).
(I'm not a complete beginner — I'm running my own Wiki and have done tons of editing)
I finks Hartnell is playing with you..
Bad bad boy Hartnell. stop it.
Now go and hide in that corner and sulk for half an hour.
There, thats told him :))
Erich, I'm sorry to say that no one except the "Master" can edit these pages.
Us "admins" (that includes that naughty boy hartnell) have only got rights to attend to the "community" site.
I think scot and a few others would like to muck in with the spelling errors eradication as well.
It seems I can't directly reply to your post. I thought you were talking about the Handbook. Alas, the wikidot docs and the entire main wikidot site cannot be changed by anyone except Michal.
I'll include it in my weekly report (tomorrow).

http://www.wikidot.org/doc:wiki-syntax is now open for typo corrections.
I am just wondering now why a second version/clone has been released.
With the open source release, it sounds like anyone can get into the guts of the system and make these changes. Today I've wandered around in some of the source files, completely lost clearly out of my element.
If nothing else, my little tour has given me an even greater awe for what Michal has done here.
Is there some way to search the source code for these typos, identify their source, and make the updates? If I could just pinpoint the locations, I'd like to address the spelling and grammar issues without disturbing the runes, crystals and other magical items that surround them.
Any words of wisdom?
On http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax#toc14
In the section on anchors, the word anchor is spelled "anochor" at one point:
Anchors
To place an anchor use # anchor-name syntax. To refer to an anchor (and scroll to it) use [#anochor-name text to display].
The [#anochor-name text to display] typo is still here.
Isn't it a shame that those 30-seconds-to-repair things stay for months?
I'd volunteer to take care of any reported typos on www.wikidot.com if someone (Michal?) wants to give me editing rights.
Erich

Good places are certainly nav:top or nav:side. An example code to copy&paste is given below:
Under admin:manage » "page templates"
Templates are a convinient convenient way to keep you your Ssite Ccontent well organized and consistent. Below you can assingassign default page sceletons(selections? skeletons?)/templates (pages from the template: category) to new created pages in particular categories.
While monkeying around with posts, I come across this error message:
You have an active editor somewhere already and it is not possible to edit multiple elemntselements at once.
In how-to-edit-pages on any new wikidot site,
If you areyou're allowed to edit pages in this Site, simply click on edit button at the bottom of the page. This will open an editor with a toolbar pallettepalette with options.
I'd suggest deleting "with options". It's redundant for anyone familiar with toolbars.
To create a link to a new page, use this syntax:
[new page name] or [ text to display].
Follow the link (which should have a different color if page does not exist) andif the page doesn't yet exist, the link should have a different color), create a new page and edit it!Although creating and editing pages is easy, there are a lot many more options that allows creating to help you create a powerful sites. Thanks scottplan. I've already pointed Michal to this thread relatively soon. I'm monitoring the spelling mistakes as they really need to be fixed. —hartnell

Here are some more suggested changes.
Page: 'Custom domain' on admin:manage
However, Iit is however possible to use an external domain for to reach this Site.
If you enable this feature, this Site will be available via both domains, (i.e. your-site-name.wikidot.com and the new domain).
You can also set up to 3 "301 redirects". which This means that if these domains are handled by the Wikidot.com servers, your visitors will be redirected to the main domain for the Site. This is usefull useful, for example, e.g. to handle domains without the "www." prefix.
Warning: itThis is a cool feature and it's totally free!
In order for the domain mapping to work you should also do a few things check the following:
- You should Verify that you own (or have administrative access to) the domain you want to use,.
- You should point Verify that your nameservers are set up (via "control panel" if your provider gives you one - look for advanced DNS settings - or by any other means) to resolve your domain to Wikidot.com servers. This should be done by setting a CNAME record to a value of "wikidot.com" value. If your provider gives you access to a "control panel", this may be accomplished in the advanced DNS or similar section. Otherwise, you will need to contact your provider and request that they make this change for you.
- Very often one has to wait (depends on your provider or DNS settings) Verify that you have waited a sufficient amount of time for the changes to propagate over the internet. The amount of time depends on your provider and DNS settings.
- Exactly the same procedure should be applied for the redirected domains (URLs) to be handled by Wikidot.com servers. [I'm not sure exactly what this means. What does this require the user to do before he/she sets up their custom domain?]
- Sometimes your Depending on your provider, you might be forced to provide the IP address of the Wikidot.com server. In such a case use 85.25.20.224. [Is this information that possibly should be listed as a sub-bullet to the second bullet above?]
This site will always be available via the http://your-site-name.wikidot.com address, regardless of the custom domain settings.
Any changes in the redirections might take up to a few minutes before becoming effective, due to caching.
The documentation for module PageTree states a default value of "5" for parameter “showRoot”.
This is a typo — the default value should be “false”.
When you click "options -> add to watched" on a thread, a little window tells you "thead added to watched". The R in thread is missing.
