I have been trying to impliment the stat counter and various other coeds into my site, but nothing works. I even went to the how to page on how to embed the stat counter code. I folowed it exactly. I even took the sandbox counter code and put it in mine, then just changed the code, and still all I get is an error that says - "Sorry, no match for the embedded content." I have tried multiple codes and multiple counters in different areas on the page, and have not yet been able to get a code in anywhere.

I use Internet Explorer, not sure what version. Don't think it should affect it though. Anyway, my site is frhx.wikidot.com so you can go look and try to figure it out. Or maybe some suggestions on what I did wrong would be helpful. Thanks and PM me if you can find anything out. I am also wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this.

The "no match" error hit me sometimes too, when I modified the HTML code. You need to follow the examples exactly. If you post the code you're using here in the forum I'll try it on a site and see what it does.

And yes I did see the earlier topic on this issue but I didn't really see a solution, so if someone can figure how to fix this please post what I did wrong and the right way to do it.

Here is what the how-to page says:

"This solution works best here. What you have to do is to:

go to www.statcounter.com
create an account (if you do not have one)
create a Project (for your Site)
generate the tracking code
insert the tracking code into your pages using the embed tags
Ok, and some details and tips

When generating the tracking code you can choose different options, all of them should work with Wikidot. All the choices are quite nicely described during the process.
You can decide if the counter is visible or not. You do not have to display a hit counter but this is a nice feature.
Or it is displayed as an image or as text. Text counters are easier to customize using text formatting.
On the page Code Options you should check no frames option. No other options are required to be changed.
Now when you have a code you should embed it within your pages. It is a nice idea to embed it in your navigation elemnts so it is visible (and counting visitors too) on all of your pages.

So simply go to nav:side (default location of the side-bar) and paste the code there

I folowed these instructions exactly. I usually make sure something works by default before I would change the code. When I used the sandbow code nothing changed except a few numbers in my code, yet that works and mine doesnt. And the funny thing is that the sandbox counter does work on my site, yet i cant get anything to embed.

This simply means they have changed the format of embedding code. I will look into this and adapt to the changes.

Apparently I'm having a very similar problem with embedding StatCounter on my wiki (nosaldo.wikidot.com).
Every time I try to embed StatCounter I get the error "Sorry, no match for the embedded content."
I've been following instructions and digging into forum posts but found no solutions other than direct intervention of wikidot support.
This is the code I'm trying to embed:

I copied your code, filled in the numbers from my StatCounter and pasted it inside my wiki but unfortunately I keep getting the same error.

I left it on the front and 'about' pages of nosaldo.wikidot.com

looking at your source code you missed changing some of the ????

strangely it would seem i originally did this by luck more than judgement. Starting from scratch i cant get it to display similar code. However i did try the recommended no java script version with no probs.

Allright! Now it seems to work (just in time before the blades…).
I copied the lowest of the examples from the PSC test site and the counting is on.
Now I just need to get the look right.

sorry for not replying earlier — I have been very busy for the last 2 days. Each of the services to be recognized by the [[embed]] tag must be added manually to the system. Currently we are including free widgets/gadgets and rather not money-making components. See this list for the recognized services.

Michal when will money making components be included? Will you be automating this process as it seems to be a bottleneck in site development.

Also, I need my newsletter subscription form working, which is run by Aweber.

Hi,

it has not been decided when users will be able to monetize their wikis and how.
I have included the Aweber forms so you should be able to use it.
