Is there a way to upload multiple files?
If the files don't exceed the 50mb limit i don't see why it would be an issue.
I hope this isn't one of thouse you have to pay to do this features.

No, this is one of those (hopefully) "coming soon" items.
I don't believe it will be a paid feature.

You may find that funny, but it's actually annoying and rude. Their working hard on it and you shouldn't try to hurry somebody who's only trying to help you.
Besides, we do not want them to release it now with glitches-galore, but rather when it's actually stable and ready.

:) no hurry just asking
Is there any update on this? It's something I have wanted for a very long time (nearly 2 years). It's even worse now because I want to upload 20+ pictures to around 20 pages, 400 files, thats a lot of keyclicks and if this feature really is coming soon, i'd like to know when and whether to delay making these pages until it's available.
Hold on to your hat!
A tweet from Twitter about an hour ago:
Wikidot: Easier (multi-)file uploading is certainly coming later this week. This is one of the most frequently requested feature so far.
-Ed
this has made me very happy !!
only thing i could suggest now is a way to have the files default sorted by newest upload (so we can find the files we upload if using one page as a repository)
Let's get a working uploader before we start asking for enhancements! ;)
For purely selfish reasons, I want this feature added to the Open Source version soon too.
This feature is going to make things so much easier for many users. I can't wait to try it.

yes of course :)
this will be a huge leap forward.
As for now, we're experiencing some troubles with implementing multi-file uploader. There is a bug in Flash which collides with the mechanisms in Lighttpd (http server of Wikidot). Michał is working on it. Believe me, very hard.

Michał is working on it. Believe me, very hardly.
English is retarded sometimes. The "ly" suffix means "very much so". However, the word "hard" is exempt to this rule. "Hardly" means "barely" or "not hard at all".

Sorry, my bad. I forgot about this exception. When I was writing it, I knew that something was wrong. I wasn't sure what :) Now I know. Thanks James.
P.S. James, have you been to GP Australia maybe?

Nah, I'm not really into it — but many of my friends have!

Hey Squark… any news yet on the the new multifile uploader?
I saw Michal's post about the recent server upgrades to lighttpd newest stable build version (1.4.22) and newest client-size javascript libraries (YUI) stable version (2.7.0)…
Are these both precursors to solve problems with the new uploader?
Well done on the new multiple file uploader which has just gone live. It's excellent.

I've just submitted bug ticket 285 as the options to rename/move or delete files in the File List of a page has stopped working since the release of the multi-file uploader.

options to rename/move or delete files in the File List
works for me rob.
Solved but something worth remembering: if you have the [[module Files]] on the page the options will work but the behaviour is a bit odd. With [[module Files]] the list of attachments on the page always shows. If you then click on the Files button for the page and then click the Options button, the options actually open in the file list from the module, not next to where you have just clicked Options. I didn't see this on my support:images page before I reported it because the file list is long and the options opened out of view so I would have had to to scroll up the page to notice what had happened.
The behaviour only affects you if you have [[module Files]] on a page and is only really evident if your file list on a page is long.
I will delete the bug ticket as it is an …er…undocumented feature rather than a bug.

well, if its going to be a pro option, can you at least give us non pro people a basic htlm multiple file uploader?
from michal in the pro site.
A few facts:
* It is flash-based. HTML-only forms do not allow multi-file uploads in an easy way, progress tracking is also tricky.
please note the uploader "might" be available for all at a later date. as pro users are supposed to get new features a few months before free users.
This gives us chance to find the odd bug here and there, as well as being a bit of an incentive to open our wallets.
Hi-
I just upgraded to to my 30-day free trial of Pro to get this feature…
Where exactly should this uploader appear from a GUI perspective?
All I see is the old single file uploader when going to 'Files'—>'Upload a File' select in the page footer tools bar…
Do I need to be looking elsewhere?
Thx.
After clicking "files", you still get the old links:
Click on "upload new file" and you'll see:
Current site storage size: xx.xx MB used of total 1 GB, xxx.xx MB still free
Max upload size: 50 MB
Select Files
Hint: you can select multiple files from the file dialog, simply hold Shift or Ctrl while selecting.
Click to switch to our old uploader
The "Select Files" link opens the new multi file uploader. There is also a link to the old single file uploader on the bottom.
-Ed
Yeah - I don't get the 'Select Files' option you are talking about… Just the old single file upload sub-form with the single file Browse select:
File upload
Current site storage size: 17.68 MB used of total 300 MB, 282.32 MB still freeMax upload size: 10 MB
File to upload: [ ][Browse]
Destination file name: [ ]
Leave blank to keep the original name.
File comments: [ ]
Max 100 characters (100 left)[Cancel] [Upload File!]
I am running Flash 10 in FireFox 3.0.8 in Windows XP.
Thx.
Is the Pro trial a Pro Plus account? I'm not sure if it was turned on for Plus accounts or all Pro accounts. I wonder if something still has to be done manually for Pro accounts to enable this feature since it is still so new.
I'd shoot a message to moc.todikiw|troppus#moc.todikiw|troppus and see what they say.
-Ed
I just upgraded from free to a pro trial account… says its a Pro+ trial… If it works, I'll probably upgrade permanently to a pro lite account when the 30 days are up…
