For over a year now, there have been frequent issues with Wikidot account creation failing to send confirmation emails, but recently this issue seems to have increased in frequency and a former workaround where using the create with facebook option would always work no longer does. This does not occur only with email addresses from forbidden domains, and it has happened to users trying multiple times with multiple valid email addresses.

Please fix this issue, as it has become a massive inconvenience to numerous users worldwide. If anyone has a method of directly contacting any member of wikidot staff, please share it.

Edit: I've been informed that the reason the create with facebook option is broken is because because Facebook's Auth bridge won't allow requests over HTTP anymore. SSL only.

Oddly i disagree, i know im very new to the site but i think wikidot is balanced and not broken.
however i get that facebook is broken but i think thats a facebook issue not wikidot.

mal, I can assure that you that this a very, very real issue and that the new implementation issues with facebook creation are almost certainly not an issue started on their end.

Once again, for a year now there have been issues with the sign up process sometimes not sending verification emails, issues that really should have been addressed sooner, but now it has gotten far worse. So many account creation attempts fail, and the only guaranteed workaround no longer works.

Please, fix this.
