I have already tried this but I don't like how it looks… It appears in the second line above and it is ugly… Is there a way to put it in the line with other elements of the top bar?

Im can see it on Phil's test site very well done! in ONE line with all other menus… could be there is too much content of menus in your top-bar?

Looks the place for the menu is on your used theme very small ?
Tip: have a look on the admin:manage page ( site manager) the used theme is in most cases very clear and can show what is really in the renderer output…
And on Phil's test site there is another strange phenomen: the random page link is on the page "nav:top" as the first one abd in the output of his used theme in the right top!
Only in the site manager it is in the awaited position!

I don't think so, because the parameters are the same as in my main site, and my main site has many more nav:top elements…

OK Brunni, both your main and test site look fine to me, but then i have a larger resolution than you.
If i resize the browser to 800 by 600, yes the links go two deep (if you understand me) but it still looks good (to me).
There is a point, at which they jump from one deep to two deep. when it don't look so good. I think this is because the browser is getting its knickers in a twist!. You might find that moving the icons elsewhere on the top nav helps.
Suffice to say, as far as i can tell the css is fine, and it is doing everything it should do.
Now after writing all that codswallop. i am now going to look using the devils browser :-((

ok brun: the top bar css is different in your test site and your main site,
look for :
#top-bar {
right:4em;
}in your test site its set for 15 em.

its all got something to do with the margins, but i dont know what…. YET!
But no, Phil, the two sites had the same parameters until some hours ago. I tested so I put that parameter to 15 just to see if sometrhing will change, and obviously, it didn't. I put the links to screenshots from testsite, because it is private and others cannot see it.

The same. But I have the same theme. Anyway, my main site has different theme than the private test site, and the result is the same. Now, I also put it here, in my other, public test site, and you can see the result is the same. The parameters of this site are exactly the same as my main site, including the theme, becuse it serves to test things that should be implemented in the main site. Here it is:
