Support Google Friend Connect: How to upload html into the root directory of my wiki site?

Summary:

I have finally got the invitation from Google Friend Connect. Friend Connect will basically add social network features to your site without coding. To make it work, it asks you to put two html files into the root directory of your wiki site. Is there any way do this?

Hi,

I have finally got the invitation from Google Friend Connect. Friend Connect will basically add social network features to your site without coding. To make it work, it asks you to put two html files into the root directory of your wiki site. In my case, this is

http://www.iphonecampus.com/

However, it looks like, in wikidot, all of the files are uploaded to

http://www.iphonecampus.com/local--files/your-page-name/your-file-name

I am wondering is there any way to do this? Or shall Wikidot come up a way to support Google Friend Connect? just like Google Analytics.

Do not believe this is easy to embed in a simple way…

is there a page created on the "embed" requests?

I got this to work, or so it would seem. I have to pack for a flight to Boston, and I am out of time (I was out of time 20 minutes ago actually)

What I did was on my friend connect page I made my site url

http://demonssouls.wdfiles.com/

Notice it is wdfiles and not wikidot

Then I added the code that google provides you between the new [[html]] blocks. That did the trick. I have no idea if it will work in any useful manner, I just wanted to get the box to at least show up. My only concern is it is linking over to wdfiles and I don't know what that might mean. Might not mean anything and be irrelevant.

Someone may have already figured this all out, but I could not find a post anywhere that gave a resolution.

I can see the member gadget on the page logged in with Firefox 3.5.8 and anonymous with IE 8.

If you guys want to mess around and fiddle with it as we say here in my neck of the world, then please do so. I would love feedback and don't want to open it up just yet to my user base until I know it is going to be useful.
