Migration from mediawiki?

Summary:

I have a small mediawiki powered wiki. I would like to migrate to wikidot. Where to start? Any tools for help?

Hello,

I have been useing Wikidot as a user for some time now, and I enjoy it.
I have a small intranet wiki powered by mediawiki engine.

I would like to migrate it to Wikidot engine, probably hosted at our own server.
I should manage installing wikidot sources, but I am not sure how to migrate the content.

Have someone migrated a functioning wiki from mediawiki or other engine to wikidot?
Are there any tools helping with it, or do I need to go through all the pages and cut/paste them all to the new site?

Are there any tools which would automaticaly convert mediawiki syntax to wikidot syntax?
Any tips?

Howdy Szymon,

Unfortunately there is no tool to convert mediawiki syntax into wikidot syntax at this time.
The developers have announced plans to create one eventually, but they have not given any timeframe on when it might be available.

So it looks as though you may have to either cut-and-paste your wiki (which, depending on the size may not be feasible), or you might just have to wait-it-out.

Thanks for your reply.

I think it will be worth to cut/paste. That wiki is fairly new, and there are under 100 pages with simple syntax. The power of Wikidot is worth it.
