Hi, I am chairman of a groups called Remembering Edward Bransfield, the leader of the first expedition to see and chart the Antarctic mainland. A page on Wikidot is one of the last remaining sources of an image said to be of him which it is not. We would like to see it removed as it is spreading mis-information and I cannot see how to contact an administrator to do this. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Jim Wilson, Chairman.
The problem is - we or the wikidot team - need the "URL" of this page or wiki where you have seen this.
Than we can recogn ize the admin and you can write him a private message ( or an email).

Thanks for getting back. This site will not allow me to post a link so I hope this makes sense. The URL is grimoire (dot)wikidot (dot) com (forward slash) edward-bransfield
It is and image of a US Civil War captain and has spread across the internet but we are almost finished getting the image removed.
There is no known image of Edward Bransfield in existence.
Thanks very much for your help with this. Much appreciated.
Jim
I have sent the admin jcarrington ( the only one member of this site) a Private Message - he will get an email for notification I think, if the email is alive).
edit
"Not allowed to post links" is a filter against spammers in the first time ( weeks ,month) of a newbee on Wikidot.

Is this the page?
http://grimoire.wikidot.com/edward-bransfield
I am not sure - cpuld be you mean the page http://grimoire.wikidot.com/edward-bransfield … but this is a picture of a "game"-figure!
( in game 1 I think).
On the history this page was uploaded from user jcarrington in 2008, and the image is showing Capt. Richard W. Meade ( USN) http://www.bluejacket.com/usn/images/oth/cw_capt_richard-w-meade_usn.jpg
But it could be you mean a complete different page and wiki..

That's the page. I have no idea how it ended up a some sort of game figure.
When you google images of Edward Bransfield it comes up as one of the first. When you open it the page the title is Edward Bransfield.
Also the description 'A captain of the Royal British Navy, stationed in Manhattan, NY, after his fataeful voyage around Cape Horn on the southern tip of South America, where he discovered Tower Island.' is completely wrong.
All we want is for this image not to appear in searches for Edward Bransfield.
Thanks again for your help with this.
Jim
Games are works of fiction that often pull fragments of reality into it. As you pointed out, everything on the site in question when relating to the real Edward Bransfield is completely wrong: that is because the site you want the image removed from is not about the real Edward Bransfield, this includes the image.
"All we want is for this image not to appear in searches for Edward Bransfield."
That is up to the search engines and sites like Google connect content to queries but it does not always understand search intent.
