You are not an admin or member of any sites here on Wikidot. How could you be having the same problem? You appear to be randomly spamming the forums with comments and questions that you don't really care about.

This is not really the place for this discussion, but you should check out RobElliott's instructions for accomplishing this on his support page:

He explains it very well with a great example. I have used this technique and it works very well. Although I used a different bit of javascript, the results are similar. You can see it in action on my site here:

I have seen a couple of sites with a scrolling banner, or a banner that goes from image to image, how is that accomplished, i have found how to add a banner but not like that

A very recent change (in the last week or so) now activates forums automatically. You can skip that step and continue with setting the nesting level under Site Manager > Forum & Discussion > Settings.

Let us know if you still need help sorting things out.

I've just set up my wikdot site… trying to activate a forum. I don't even see the option "Activate forum" under the settings tab as described in step 2 above.

I'm assuming I am an admin as I set up the site…? Help please…

In exactly the same way as a jpg image only the extension is png or gif or, if you really must, bmp. When you want to add it to a page you use the normal image syntax: [[image flower.png]] for example, or if you've stored all the images on the images page then [[image /images/flower.png]]

Using the built-in forum, no thread belongs to a page. The threads are all part of a module instead.

Every single thread uses the exact same page as every other thread in your forum. The forum:thread page.

yes, that is the workaround I am using
I create a page with all the images for the forum
with this approach though it's not possible to use an image from the page that contains the thread, isn't it?
it's actually good since you can share the images between post/pages

Perhaps there is a lesson there to not waste your time searching on Google but to come to the community forum first.

Let's say you have uploaded an image called klematis.jpg to the page http://community.wikidot.com/files.

To put it into a post the syntax is:

[[image /files/klematis.jpg]]

which gives:

I think the error message would be more accurate if it said use /pagename/filename

I am sorry but after two hours of googling it I still cannot find the solution.
I hope it won't be as obvious as the stickyness…
In order to add an image to a post I upload the file on the page, then I use the image wizard to put it on the page, and I always receive the message:
To refer to an image attached to a page, use pagename/filename
And I tried it, how much did I try….
