You have some posibilities:
1.) Clone the Blog- template Package site to your new blog site…
( http://blog-template.wikidot.com/ )
(Note: I see you have done this..)

Click on the example post on your site and have a look how this is written!
If you want to start a new blog - article - than on the right top you will find a little field ("new post") wimdow to key in the "title" of your new blog post.

This creates a new page for your text you want to save and store and edit…

2.)G to our search over the tag-cloud and read all page whioch are tagged with "blog":

3) go to our howto-,list and search for a howto about blogs:

4) have a look how we have done this blog here on our community site !
You can always click on the source button ( top right or bottom +options) to have a look how we use the blog:_template or the overview page over all with the blog:_start page and how we have managed the side tables..

Hi Everyone,

My name is Danial and I'm 25 years old. I'm a new member of wikidot and would like to make a personal blog but seems I can't find any guidelines to create a post or maybe I just missed of the guidelines pages. Can anyone help me on which way I should start my personal blog by at least give me the guidelines site link. I much appreciate if you can help me. Thanks

I saw the source there, i´ll try to replicate it ina my page…and yes, i saw the "category" glossary, but i think that´will be not nescessary, as my idea is to focus in it and keep it quite simple…

Adding to helmuti's answer, to make things easier for your users I would use a dataform so that the description of the word and any other relevant information can be added in a structured way. An example of of such a dataform is in the code below (which goes into your category:_template page):

 [[form]] fields: book: label: Book Title type: text width: 50 isbn: label: ISBN type: text width: 20 publisher: label: Publisher type: text width: 50 [[/form]]

One of the pages resulting from that is here.

It's then listed in alphabetic order on the page here using the syntax:

 [[module ListPages category="acquisitions" tags="2010" perPage="30" order="title" separate="false" prependLine="||~ Author ||~ Title ||~ ISBN ||~ Publisher||~ Acquired||" appendLine="||||||||||||~ ||"]] || %%title_linked%% || %%form_data{book}%% || %%form_data{isbn}%% || %%form_data{publisher}%% || %%tags%% || [[/module]]

I really like using dataforms when you have to create a database. Mind you, they are good for just about any situation!

You can put on the glossario a Listpages module like we have on our Glosar to show the "tiltes" in alphabetical order :

And: we have used an own "category" for the glossary too … b ut if your site has only glossario entrieas than this makes no difference…

Hi, i´m new to all this…i´m setting a wiki http://marcenaria.wikidot.com/ as a glossary of woodworking terms, in Brazilian Portuguese language.
I´m still surfing all the information available here, learning a lot. Have just added a chatroom to my site, and bringing some helpers to put togheter all the stuff i want there…
I liked the wikdot a lot….it´s not as overcrowded with adds as other free wiki solutions i founded…nice. I´m very active at the larger discussion forum of woodworking in portuguese language www.guiadomarceneiro.com , and my purpose here is to have a database off woodkorking, carpentry, woodcraft, etc, as a large glossary with images and links about the terms, as a portuguese-english dictionay of these terms to help the brazilian woodworkers read and understand the massive ammount of english written material about it.
As a newbiee, i can´t go without do a noob question, can i? :D ….so….someone could shortcut the search to me, tell me how, or where i can find the way to organize the terms in an alphabetic orther? The pages in this case are [http://marcenaria.wikidot.com/glossario]

It's happened to me a couple of times today and I'm sure it's due to the current high traffic volume. So I imagine it will settle down in a cuple of days.

My site is currently set to private. I will wait and see if it is traffic related. It says try again later. So something on wikidot must be not working right now.

Hello,

I'm new to the wiki world and I don't have any direct experience with creating a web page or a wiki. Some of the coding seems similar to creating macros or writing sequel code (which I have limited knowledge of). I am looking forward to learning more and I am glad to know there is a forum to obtain assistance.

I'm creating my wiki to provide a place to showcase my art.
