Your site was unfortunately caught in a spam-site sieve. Wikidot is plagued with hundreds of spam sites a day, and so we on the spam-killing team attempt to alleviate this pressure as much as possibly by deleting countless spam sites. Thousands have been killed in the past few months, and it is inevitable that a handful of legitimate sites might accidentally be caught.

Once a site has been undeleted, it will never be deleted again, so your site is now permanently safe.

I received no emails or notifications that my site was going to be deleted. If you had said "we'll delete your site unless you choose a paid subscription" I would've subscribed. In fact, the only reason I didn't pay at the outset is that you changed your pricing model so that the features I wanted were free.

We run our home owners' association on this site. What happened? Is there any way I can at least get my data back?

• Removed the member ( by userid)
• INVITED the User ( by searchof the user-id)
• made sign off
• made sign on as the user ( with the know id)
• go to my account
• read the invitations (1)
• click on ACCEPT

This works - but only if the employees have not deleted their account…

Arranging the headings is a little more complex. Wikidot don't seem to allow cells to cover more than one column, so you would have to make it a div or a separate table. Then you would have to add CSS to make them the same size as the table. it's do-able, but non-trivial.

For now I suggest you just split the table where you need the headings (just add [[/table]] and [[table]] between two rows) and put in level two headings with Wikidot code. That would make it normal text colour, but leave it like that for now. Then learn CSS and a bit of HTML. You don't need much HTML, just enough to understand how the CSS relates to the Wikidot syntax. The w3schools tutorials don't teach everything, but they are a good place to start: http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp

Build your wiki using the stuff you can understand how to do, and leave the more intricate stuff for later.

It is also a good idea to get to know how to use the wikidot [[include]], [[module ListPages]] and Data Forms because I think ListPages and Data Forms might be a better way to do what you are doing if you intend to have pages for many characters.

I think I sorta get it, but I have no CSS training which is probably why I don't get this. >_>; I know I really should learn at least basic HTML, CSS and probably BBC, but I haven't the patience. Hnn. Would there be any way to get it to look something like this infobox? I don't mean a 100% carbon copy; I just mean like the pic on top, then a single cell with centered text to mark the specific area. Or would that be super complicated? I tried to play around with it and all I got were cells the size of the others. This is what happened

Once you know how I've got the infobox working, I would suggest you want to look at the CSS.

perhaps you should copy the example of http://siliconcity.wikidot.com/template:herobox ( click on "source" - either grey top bar right side or down to the page "+option" and than source - and COPY it )

and build a page for every entity ("hero") like the page http://siliconcity.wikidot.com/artemis ( click on SOURCE! and copy it)

You will see the important "Include" (macro/command/wikidot-tag) - "calling" the template fr inserting at this point and replacing the variables in ther template with the new content:

Build an infobox as you want tol "include" in ebery Detail page in your wiki - replacing the variables with teh real content of this page..

I think the examples are better too understand than the howto… ij the first go.

I came from Wikia. I made my Wikidot quite a while ago, but I just started to try to understand it today really. I cannot stand looking at Wikia anymore. It's far too klunky anymore. Everything looks shoehorned in when you have an infobox. Don't have one? It looks fine. But since my friend and I are using it for characters and have infoboxes, it looks like everything was beaten in with a hammer. Example of what I mean.

This is driving me up the wall batty. I can usually learn things quickly, but I work best with examples. Anything with an example of what I should do is locked so I can't look at it. I understand this is to stop people from vandalising and crap, but ughh. For people like me, it's a headache.

If you can't tell, I'm very stressed out over this.

Could you please try linking to the file for us to look at?

If you are using a private site, try uploading it to a different public site to see if the same problem occurs then (and link us to the public one if it does).

Also, try looking at the file list for your page, and check what the "File type" column says? Does it say that it is a PDF document, or is it being picked up as being something else?
